Day 21 - Flossing

Cooper is really getting into brushing his teeth. He even started flossing! He probably thinks I'll take away his "Star Wars Lightsaver" if he doesn't brush and floss.

Cooper is starting to talk more about his birthday. This is #2 on his list. Doesn't everyone need a Wolverine action figure on a motorcycle with claws that actually work?

Day 20 - Rainy Day

After weeks of perfect weather, it rained today. You can't see it but Cooper has his "Star Wars Lightsaver" in his left hand. He was very excited to show Mrs. Ruddy.

Look at this cool light in Cooper's classroom. They have opaque legos. This is his friend Katie. He is talking more about friends at the new school.

Day 18 - The Lightsaber Saga Continues

Chris downloaded lightsabers for each of our iPhones. It's very entertaining to see Cooper run around with MY iPhone. How do you keep a soon to be 4 year old from running around with your iPhone lightsaber? You buy him a "real" lightsaber.
Hello Wal-Mart. This is the conversation he had with the guy in line behind us:
Cooper - "This is my Star Wars Lightsaver, if Darth Vader comes to my house I'm going to kill him with my Star Wars Lightsaver." The guy asked what his name was and Cooper said, "I'm Luke Skywalker." The guy looks at me and asks, "Does he know the red lightsaver in his hands belongs to Darth Vader, not Luke Skywalker?" My only response, "I'll kill you with that lightsaber if you tell him."
When I told Chris this story, he said that Cooper knows the color of each persons lightsaber - duh. He was right, Cooper recited each person's color.

Day 17 - Bachelor Night

Love, love, love this picture of Chris tickling Cooper! The giggle is priceless!
Chris and Cooper had an evening by themselves. They made homemade pizza and apparently the crust wasn't very good. Cooper still ate the toppings but used his new favorite line, "it makes my tummy hurt".

Day 16 - Visiting Old Friends

Last night the symphony played on Art Hill in Forest Park. We all had a great time. Cooper was very excited about the fireworks.
On our way to school, Cooper informed me that his friends from the old school missed him and he wanted to visit them. We took him to Parents Night Out at Together We Can. He was very excited to see some of his friends and told them about his paper airplane that Kate from his new school made for him!

Day 15 - Rojo and Verde

Cooper loves Spanish with Senor Max. We know when he has Spanish because he uses the words he has learned. In addition to rojo and verde, he said, "The word for yellow is funny."

Today's Cooper Love - Cooper was heard saying the following while taking a shower. "Daddy, you're cool and I'm cool. Mommy isn't cool, she's beautiful. Moby is cool and Kitty is beautiful."

Day 14 - Picture Day

Today was picture day! I can't wait to see how they turn out.

After school, we visited the U City library. The 3 buzzards who sit behind the counter in the children's section HECKLING CHILDREN are MEAN! Who snaps at a 3 year old for sitting in front of the computer in the children's section to type? The brown haired old bag who needs to get a different job. She actually said while pointing, "Don't touch that!" Lady - here is some advice from a fellow crab DON'T WORK IN THE CHILDREN'S SECTION OF A LIBRARY.

When it was time for bed, Cooper looked through all his library books. He was very excited when he saw Eric Carle's "The Grouchy Ladybug". He told us that Mrs. Ruddy read it in school. He read the book to us. It was amazing how much he retained. He knew all the main phrases and responses. My version of the book would be called "The Grouchy Librarian".

Day 13 - Back to School

Round 2 of writing his name. Without instructions he wrote his name from left to right. I asked his teachers if they had taught Cooper how to write his name. They write words in all capitals but they haven't worked on his name specifically. Mrs. Ruddy thinks he may have seen the girls writing their name and voila.

He mentioned playing with some new friends: Frank, Grant and of course Sophia.
Today's Love by Cooper:
1) He thought it was appropriate to punch Me in the stomach. I asked him, "Why did you punch me?" He responded with, "It was a nice punch, it was soft." I said, "I would never punch you." Cooper adds with with laughter, "If you tried to punch me in the stomach, that would make me laugh."
2) As soon as Chris got home from work Cooper said, "I hate you." Insert dramatic pause and looks of horror. Cooper then laughed really loud and said "I'm only kidding."

What a weekend - Holy Cow!

Check out the video Chris took of Cooper. This is the first time he has attempted to write anything. Left to right - hmmmm, some are saying it's his first attempt at Arabic.

Day 12 - Po Po and Janny are here

24 hours of fun. Po Po and Janny arrived last night. We took them to the loop for dinner at Fitz's where I talked about everything under the sun. I even did a dance that I learned in school. Another big day today. School, then picnic followed by a trip on the Metrolink to the baseball game. Cooper didn't want to leave until there were firewords. No homeruns and the Cardinals lost, so no fireworks.

Day 11 - "Thank you Mr. Mealworm"

Cooper had science class today. He told me all about the mealworm. They cut up paper "like this and this" (little pieces) for the mealworms. He also learned Mr. Schimmelpfinnig's song. He proudly performs in the video!

Day 10 - What a fun afternoon!

Cooper and his class continue to learn about caterpillars. They made caterpillars for the wall. Very creative.

After school Cooper helped me pick up some contracts for work. We took the Metrolink from Skinker to the CWE. We played hopscotch on the tiled floors of the North Building at the med school. When we arrived he talked and talked and talked with the ladies in our Legal Dept. He swooned them with tales of Wolverine and Spiderman. When asked about the abrasion on his elbow, he responded with, "I climbed a tree then fell out and landed on a T-Rex." Hmmm.

The Weekend!

Cooper helped close the pool.

Day 9 - Ready for the weekend!

An unhappy Coop on the way into school, he didn't get to take his Mommy's puzzle game into school. Dad said "Coop, too many pieces pal, you might lose some, pick something else", but he wouldn't have it, clearly a deal breaker. Nice lip!

Didn't take long to get him to crack a smile, but he was fighting it! All was forgotten by the time he got into class, grabbed a puzzle, and gave Dad a kiss goodbye. He is also ready to see his Mommy Friday night, and have her home after two nights apart.

Day 8 - Is he 3 or 13?

Cooper had 2 paintings in his cubby. "The green one is Dad and the pink on is Mom." He pointed out Dad's glasses in the painting. Grandma is picking up Cooper today. It's her first pick up at the new school. I'm sure he will talk her ear off. This is one of our conversations last night....

Cooper - "She was freaking me out. She walked away. I had a soccer ball and I threw it at her belly."
Mom - "That wasn't nice, how do you think that made her feel?"
Cooper - "It made her happy. Then we played some more. Then I played with somebody else in the sandbox.... Cole and somebody and somebody else."

Day 7 - Ladies Man

Got him to stop and ham it up for the camera!

After a meeting this morning, I stopped by school for a quick visit. Cooper was in the garden with Mrs. Ruddy and 5-6 girls. This is Cooper and his new pal Sophia . They watered all the outside plants this morning and spoke about the ladybugs. Mrs. Ruddy says they have playing together for 2 days! One of the girls was lifting 2 finials like barbells. I don't remember what she called them. Cooper picked up 2 and said, "I'm strong."

Day 6

Nothing compares to Cooper running towards you when you pick him up!

Cooper was a tiger today. Apparently a very popular tiger as the teachers from Sr-K referred to him as Tiger.

Yesterday, Cooper told me, "you're a strange little girl.". My response, "how did you get so smart?". He said he learned it from the movie Toy Story. "Buzz tells Woody that he is a strange little boy."
